Ratapani shelters over 150 species of birds, making every morning an unforgettable spectacle. Our estate alone hosts hundreds of peacocks, along with flycatchers, kingfishers, eagles, owls and seasonal migrants.

Light, patience, and a very long lens.
Photographers return here for the same reason birders do: proximity. Subjects come to the estate rather than the other way round, and dawn light through teak is the softest you will find in Central India.

A raised bamboo-screened watchtower on the quiet edge of the estate lets you sit level with the canopy — birds at eye height at dawn, and the grassland edge coming alive at dusk.
